  The youngest of five children, she was born to John and Dovie Nipper in La
  Vergne, Tennessee. She loved her siblings, Louise Richardson, Ruth Pope,
  John Nipper and Charles Nipper. She attended Smyrna High School where she
  was an outstanding, well known basketball player. While attending a dance at
  the Civilian Recreation Center at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, she met
  and later married Marion "George" Miller. While George was in the Air Force
  they traveled the United States and Europe before making Huntsville their
  home in 1958.
  
  Jean went to work at NASA in the photo lab developing historic photos of the
  Gemini and Apollo missions. After having her daughter Karen, Jean retired
  early to play bridge, volunteer in the community, and support her daughter in
  all of her activities. She spent time opening her home to Karen's friends, loving them as second
  children.
  
  She was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ for over 50 years and loved her Sunday school class, The Classics.
  
  Her grandchildren were the treasures of her life. She was able to enjoy their
  activities for many years.
  
  Jean is survived by her husband of 68 years, George; her beloved daughter,
  Karen Miller Kimbrough and husband, Hal, of Huntsville, grandsons, Ben
  (Savina) and Thomas; granddaughter, Anna Katherine; and many cherished
  nieces and nephews.¹
