• Note*: 'About the year of 1750, Phillip Harmon, with his wife and son Phillip, left Germany for America and on the way his wife died and was buried at sea. The old man and son landed at Cape Fair, near the mouth of Cape Fair river in North Carolina, and settled near Saulsbury; Rowan County, North Carolina. (I think it should be Cape Fear and Cape Fear river.) Young Phillip grew to manhood and married Anna Straatsman and they had six children, named John, Phillip, Mathias, Jacob, Daniel and Elizabeth. In the year of 1795, John and Phillip went to Mount Sterling, Montgomery County, Kentucky, and they settled there. Some years after, Jacob and Mathias settled in the same state. Daniel went to Virginia and was killed by a negro.'
  
  'In 1778 John married Bethany Brinson and in 1800 moved to Bath County, Kentucky, and settled on Licking river, 25 miles from Mount Sterling. They had eleven children, named, Phillip, Mary, Elizabeth, George, Anna, John, Michael, Rachel, Mariah, Thomas and Julia. Mariah died 15 years ago, Mary married Henry Price, Phillip married Nancy Jackson, Elizabeth married William Jackson, George married Elizabeth Alfrey, John married Nancy Meyers, Anna married Elisha Jackson, Michael married Nancy Spencer, Rachel married Jackson Alley, Thomas married Nancy Glaze and Julia married David H. Steward.'
